Carpal Tunnel Yoga For Everyone

By Tom Nicholson

Carpal tunnel exercises using yoga has become the most popular exercises in the world. Long ago you could only find it in the Eastern hemisphere, but today Westerners are swearing up and down about its benefits. You can find several schools of yoga with different masters and concepts, but most of it today revolves around Hatha yoga. This is just one of the five major schools of thought in yoga.

In the beginning people only knew yoga as a spiritual healing process. If done properly it allowed you to feel the meditation at work and give the body a relaxing state. There is something about these Hindu concepts, but you won't find too many people using the yoga as a part of their spiritual religion. Instead, many practitioners are helping people become healthier and give their bodies the benefits they're supposed to have throughout life. Especially for anyone who is suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome.

So before you stop reading because you think this is some religious or philosophical significance, just realize you don't need either one to appreciate yoga. The goal behind carpal tunnel exercises is to focus on healing the damaged tissues and tendons that are affected your workday. This is done through deep breathing techniques, holding poses, and stretching the body. When you first start using yoga exercises to prevent more carpal tunnel damage, it's important to stick with a professional trainer. Not only will it help you do the exercises properly, but you will be able to stave off injury as well. This is why it's extremely important not to try advanced poses without the guidance of your master or trainer. It may not look tough, but pulled muscles and other issues can be common if the exercises aren't done properly.

The next time you head to work, we want you to try a few carpal tunnel exercises using yoga. Granted you might think that work is not the place to be doing this, but there are plenty of exercises that are geared for the work place. If you happen to work at a desk, the strain on your body will eventually take its toll. So the little things like watching your posture, positioning the keyboard to a level area, and doing the same with your mouse can be a great starting point. Then of course you can take breaks throughout the day, add in a couple yoga exercises, take deep breaths while you're doing it, and just relax. It's not something you need to do every 10 minutes, but maybe once an hour or whenever you feel stiff, then bring out the yoga.

There are a few exercises you can do at work to help carpal tunnel. The first deals with twisting your body and holding the position for a few seconds before releasing, then repeating. Just turn to the right or left of the chair and take both arms around with you to grab the back of it. Hold, then release and repeat so you get the full effects.

You can also stand up and face the wall while reaching as high as possible. Touch the wall with your hands, hold the position for 3 seconds, and then release the pose. You can bend the hips and slide down if you want a little extra stretching.

No matter what they look like to others, carpal tunnel exercises using yoga is the best way to relieve CTS. It's inexpensive, there is no medicine involved, and both the body and mind get healthy. So if you have problems with carpal tunnel syndrome, use these exercises to get you started on the right path.

Yoga Can Be Used in Carpal Tunnel syndrome Treatment

By Tom Nicholson

Whether you see it as carpal tunnel syndrome or CTS, this disorder occurs thanks to a weakening of the muscles, tendons, and tissue. The damage can end up giving you a numb or burning feeling almost immediately and if untreated can result in paralysis of the arms. While most people do something about it before reaching this stage, it's important to understand the worst case scenario. Just remember the primary cause is due a compressed median nerve, and it can be treated by using yoga.

The wrist contains the carpal tunnel, a tunnel-like structure that houses the median nerve and flexor tendons for the fingers. If the tunnel constricts or if the contents swell, the median nerve is compressed. The causes of most cases of CTS are unknown; most of the risk is attributed to genetic factors, and environmental factors -- such as excess use -- are disputed.

CTS is often a misdiagnosis for Repetitive Strain Injury, or RSI. In RSI, prolonged periods of repetitive use of the hands can cause pain, numbness, and weakness. This is a common complaint among those who spend a lot of time typing on a keyboard of some description. Though there is little medical evidence to prove its existence, RSI has become recognized as one of the risks of modern living.

Even though RSI and CTS are not actually related, they both have similar traits. In the medical world you won't find a true connection, but the symptoms make people believe one may entice the other. All you need to know is that overuse of the hands can cause excess fluids to build up. Mix this in with swelling around the flexor tendons and you'll find yourself with carpal tunnel. In the end it all compresses the median nerve.

The good news is CTS can be prevented by changing your lifestyle and habits. Whether it's reorganizing your work place, doing yoga exercises or just taking breaks throughout the day can help prevent or control your carpal tunnel. The important thing to start out with is readjusting your computer monitor, keyboard and mouse. This promotes you to sit properly at your desk all day, which in turn alleviates some of the pressure related to the median nerve. Even by keeping your hands warm can be a good thing to do throughout the day. It's not the total solution, but it definitely moves you towards preventing carpal tunnel syndrome.

When you look over all the information related to carpal tunnel, there are several treatments available. Choosing the right one for you shouldn't be too difficult, but we'll go over them anyways. First, you can go ahead and have surgery, but the constant visits to the doctor and going through rehab can be mentally and financially draining. Then of course you can get a couple quick shots of steroids in, but this is only a short-term solution. Then of course the little things like modifications at work and taking frequent breaks are all ways to help your carpal tunnel.

Yoga is a system of exercises developed in India centuries, even millennia ago. These are stretching exercises that involve all parts of the body. They build flexibility and muscle strength, improve circulation, reduce and stress. The wrist is involved constantly, and symptoms of CTS are relieved. Carpal tunnel exercises using yoga may not only be the best way to cure CTS, it also improves your health in general.

A Real Look into Yeast Infections

By Nancy Grace

Some would argue that the most common cause of yeast infection is called thrush and affects mainly the female population. This does not mean that men cannot contract the disease, it just means that the female genitalia is more prone to yeast infections.

Yeast infections occur in the skin or mucous membrane in humans via fungi called Candida. If observed in a culture it would look like a round colonies of white or off-white organisms. One of the most famous species is known as Candida albicans. It should be acknowledged that this is not the only organism that can result in a yeast infection in men or women.

Some would say that the Candida albicans is a peaceful organism and lives peacefully with the other flora in your body. It is kept in check by other bacteria in the body, which help keep it from growing out of control. Its favorite living quarters are dark, warm, wet places in the body. For this reason, you'll normally find yeast infections in the mouth, in the ears, in the blood, or in the gut. It also loves human skin and warm and wet places such as under skin folds around the belly and other areas like the armpits.

Candidiasis is mainly called a yeast infection because of the Candida albicans normal form, which looks like a oval yeast cell. This yeast cell in its old form will duplicate and replicate through what is a process that is called budding. What the cells are doing is creating clones of themselves with bulbs on. These bulbs stay attached to the primary or originating cell and after a while will decide to let go.

What causes a yeast infection? Well, the human body has to be at the right temperature and the right pH level, which are the two conditions that must be met for yeast infection to occur. This will allow the species to grow without disturbing other flora. However, when the temperature and pH levels change the species is free to replicate without competing bacteria. This is what causes the yeast infection to get out of control.

Candida albicans will mark its territory during its population growth by causing a myriad of symptoms such as burning, itching, tingling or even soreness. You may even feel more than one of these sensations at a time. However, it's not a good idea to scratch the areas in question, because that may only compound the growth of the fungi.

Other signs of a yeast infection include mood swings, depression, anxiety, your ability, cravings for sugars, alcohol cravings, or cravings for carbohydrates. These are the very things that the organism wants to grow. Isn't it amazing how they can somehow get the brain to crave what they need. Even though it's not in our best interest.

A yeast infection is a serious issue that needs to be dealt with, because it can be fatal. This is true for people that may be older or younger people, or those with HIV or AIDS. Diabetics need to be especially aware of yeast infections, since they don't heal as well as the general population. On the positive side, if the yeast infection is treated accurately and properly it can be completely eradicated.
