We Detox Our Cars!

Everyone who owns a car understands that car oil gets dirty so the filter needs to be changes regularly. Unfortunately our bodies have no replaceable parts installed. Our bodies natural detox may be great but it does need a tube up every so often. Our homes have chemicals leaking out of nearly everything like our furniture, walls and even flooring so we absorbed much of these and our bodies detox systems can be pushed to their limits.

Having a healthy way to detox our bodies can be done with the help of natural items readily available at our local supermarkets or green grocer.

How Alcoholics Can Recover From Addiction

By Ed Philips

Unfortunately the majority of alcoholics just never get help in time, and refuse to reach out for help until it is too late. If only they had just realized that they had indeed had a problem and that at least somebody had managed to have to perseverance to get the message through. Sometimes though a tragic stories can lead to help other people and even react if they are able to see the same thing happening in their own life. Obviously those who suffer most are an alcoholics direct family so as we all have family this story should be easy enough to relate to.

David Jones woke up one morning to find his wife comatose. Medical studies showed she didn't have cancer or heart disease; however, she was severely depressed due to the fact that her children had recently moved away and she felt lonely and worthless.

Like many men, David was not a very good listener. Unfortunately he never recognized the fact that his wife was severly depressed and, in fact, had distanced himself from her. Because of these feelings Mrs Jones attempted to find comfort elsewhere, namely alcohol.

Why did she choose alcohol? It helped her forget and made it appear as if her problems didn't exist, making it the perfect solution for a depressed person. Unfortunately Mrs Kelly drank heavily for 21 days until one morning she simply didn't wake up due to her comatose state. During her hospitalization her families only interest was getting her to quit drinking alcohol, and didn't confront the problem that led to the drinking. Unfortunately she believed that without alcohol she would return to a life that was unbearable.

After 3 weeks in hospital it was decided to let Mrs Jones return home to her husband, who was under strict instructions not to let her drink. Mrs Jones was in a desperate state, and later said she was planning suicide, but then that very morning the phone rang. It was Mrs Jones son Peter with some good news. His wife was pregnant and so they had decided to return home as they would need Mrs Jones help with the other Grand children. Well suddenly Mrs Jones life was turned upside down and she suddenly had meaning given back to her life. Even though she had to wait several months for their return, she was a new women.

The reason I told this story was twofold. Alcohol is not a solution to depression and if you do know an alcoholic personally, ask them what the matter is and act accordingly. Even if you can get their problem met half way it could prevent a tragic end.

Clear For Life - How To Get Rid Of Zits

By Chris Jensen

How to get rid of zits - this is usually the concern of most teenagers. According to studies, about 80 percent of all teenagers suffer from this skin disturbance.

Acne is a condition in which the skin of the face, and often the neck, shoulders, chest, and back, is covered with pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and boils. This development is controlled by chemical substances called hormones, which stimulate the oil glands in the skin. These glands, which are called sebaceous glands, grow larger and produce more oil. When the surface pores are clogged with sebaceous gland secretions and keratin, or when so much extra oil is being secreted that it backs up into the ducts, the result is the formation of skin blemishes characteristic of acne.

Do you want to enjoy clear and beautiful skin? Here are simple tips on how to get rid of zits:

1. Wash your face regularly with a mild facial cleanser, preferable one containing salicylic acid. Salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and prevents it from drying out. Rinse well with water, pat skin dry with a clean towel, and apply a moisturizer.

2. Apply fresh slices of cucumber to the affected areas for about 20 minutes. Rinse your face with cold water thereafter.

3. Apply crushed garlic to the affected areas. Garlic has anti-bacterial properties, therefore killing acne-causing bacteria on your skin.

4. Do not pop your pimples nor put your hands in your face frequently. Our hands and fingers may be dirty and inhabited by more germs, and so doing these things will only make matters worse.

5. Drink plenty of water daily. Water will hydrate your skin and prevent it from looking dry and scaly. Also, it will detoxify your body of unwanted substances that accumulate in your colon and contribute to your acne.

In conclusion, taking care of your skin is very important, not only for your personal sense of beauty but also for your general well-being.

Type 2 Diabetes - How to Stabilize Your Blood Sugar Levels!

By Brian V Shortt

Sufferers of type 2 diabetes at times walk a fine line between hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia simply because their bodies cannot process blood sugars as effectively and efficiently as non-diabetics. However, don't despair concerning this because balanced blood sugar levels can be achieved although, it must be emphasized, it will still be relatively elevated when compared with non-diabetic levels.

Accordingly, you must consult with your health care provider to determine the target blood glucose range appropriate for you.

Three of the most basic steps to help you include:

1: With the aid of your individual glucose meter, regular blood sugar level testing at times agreed with your health care provider, will help you determine the pattern with which your levels rise and fall. Of course your activities, foods consumed and time of day will make a difference. Don't forget issues like stress, depression, pain, poor mobility and illness come into play as well.

Once you have determined your personal pattern your diabetes management plans will be easier to tailor to your needs. In other words, you can then make the crucial changes to your lifestyle to stabilize your blood sugars.

2: Various conditions, like type 2 diabetes, send you warning signals when something is not quite right. You must learn to listen to your "body talk" ... Your body will constantly show you but you must be aware of the symptoms of high or low blood sugars. For examples an unquenchable thirst, frequent urination and extreme tiredness are all signs your levels are high. If you are taking insulin and maybe missed a meal, you would suffer signs of a "hypo" and they could include pale sweaty skin, palpitations, confusion, slurred speech or maybe a headache.

When you know your signs and symptoms take immediate action, i.E. Monitor your blood sugar levels, inject insulin, take glucose tablets, and/or eat food. Don't wait for your symptoms to go away as your capacity to remedy the situation may fade quickly.

3: Even once you give your type 2 diabetes your complete attention, blood sugar levels can be unpredictable. So it is really vital for you to know the level you should be aiming for. Most people who have diabetes should aim for:

* an HbA1c of less than 7 per cent * a pre-meal blood glucose level of 4 to 6mmol/l (72 to 108 mg/dl) or 3.5 to 6mmol/l (63 to 108 mg/dl) if you are not taking insulin or diabetic medications * a level of 4 to 8 mmol/l (72 to 144 mg/dl) measured two hours following your meal.

Don't overlook to share with your relatives and friends the steps you would like them to take if you are unable to help yourself. Put up your health care provider's telephone number in conspicuous places so they can contact him when emergency situations occur.

By keeping your blood sugar levels in a healthy range you can slash your risk of developing complications and live a long and healthy life even with type 2 diabetes.

Running consistently high blood sugar levels when you have type 2 diabetes increases your risk of developing complications such as heart problems, stroke, macular degeneration and other circulatory conditions, plus recurrent infections.
