We Detox Our Cars!

Everyone who owns a car understands that car oil gets dirty so the filter needs to be changes regularly. Unfortunately our bodies have no replaceable parts installed. Our bodies natural detox may be great but it does need a tube up every so often. Our homes have chemicals leaking out of nearly everything like our furniture, walls and even flooring so we absorbed much of these and our bodies detox systems can be pushed to their limits.

Having a healthy way to detox our bodies can be done with the help of natural items readily available at our local supermarkets or green grocer.

What Do You Know About Canker Sore Treatment?

Should You Really Use That Moisturizer With Sunscreen Added?

Sunburn is bad for your skin, so should you use a moisturizer with sunscreen?

But believe it or not the answer isn't as clear as you might expect.

There's no doubt though that sunburn is really bad for your skin.

And if you want to make sure you're going to have older looking skin with sagging and wrinkles, dryness and lines, just start getting sunburned at an early age, and do it regularly.

Not to mention the risk of skin cancer.

So doesn't it make complete sense to use a moisturizer with an spf of 15 or even 30?

Not necessarily, though I'm certainly not saying that its fine to get sunburned.

Why isnt it a good idea to use a moisturizer with an spf factor? Because there is evidence that the daily use of sunscreens can be dangerous to your health, and even some suggestion that daily use of an spf moisturizer could lead to cancer.

That's not to say that it's proven, but it is certainly suspected by many scientists. Now if you use a sunscreen for, say, 5 or 6 times a year, then the risk is a little lower. But if you use a moisturizer with sunscreen added chances are you're going to be using it daily, so you're using a sunscreen daily.

There are different types of sunscreen. Particularly 2 different types, those that work in the skin once they have been absorbed into the skin, and those that stay on the surface of the skin and dont soak in, like zinc or titanium sunblocks.

If the sunscreen soaks in then a portion of them will get into your bloodstream. Possibly dangerous. And most skincare products with spf factors use the type that soaks in because it looks and feels better.

And of course all spf factor is produced by using synthetic chemicals, and you don't want to be getting chemicals into your bloodstream.

And there's more. If you block the sun to your face every day it's possible that you could start to suffer from vitamin D deficiency. There are studies that show that anything up to 60% of Americans suffer from a deficiency of vitamin D. (Though not all caused by sunscreen use by any means).

So what should you do?

Use the best moisturizer in the world that doesn't have a sunscreen. The manufacturer of the best skin care products actually doesn't use any sunscreens in their skin care products for all the reasons I've just outlined.

And wait till there's a day when you really think you need a spf factor, then use a sunscreen with either zinc or titanium. On other days you won't need one, and then you can stock up on that vitamin D.

Curing diabetes has been at the forefront of medical research for decades. The "Why" of diabetes has befuddled millions in Establishment medicine for a long-time. In the mid-1900's diabetes was joined at the hip with the "Cause of Heart Disease" crowd, blaming fat as the main culprit and then advocating a low-fat diet:

* overweight and obesity soared as people fattened up like cattle in a pen

* people became fatter at an ever-quickening pace

* no one connected the dots to see that it's actually carbohydrates that cause diabetes

Yes, that's right! It never was cholesterol and fat, it was always carbohydrates that were doing the damage in diabetes. Let the shouts go up, the screaming and gnashing of teeth begin. How was this missed? It's because medicine works mostly by belief systems and not by facts.

What was the logic in its thinking? Bone simple: eating fat would lead to fat accumulation in the body. But... the factual biochemistry is that carbs become the fat on your body, not fat.

This information rings the bell and busts up more than six decades of wrong thinking. By 1950, biochemical research had proven that it's carbohydrates that the body converts to fat. No one took the time to do a little reading and the whole issue took over the world's collective thinking -- much to its detriment.

When the low-carb diet exploded on the scene in 2002-2003, several scientists took a hard look at low-carbing to see if all the negative press it had received held up under scrutiny:

* the low-carb diet out-performed the low-fat diet and the Mediterranean diet in weight loss and fat loss

* blood sugar levels, the main culprit in diabetes, plummeted

* so-called dangerous fats (saturated -- but never proven dangerous) dropped in low-carb

* the recommended low-fat diet was defeated by the low-carb diet

The low-carb diet is just what a diabetic needs to solve this disease. And changes happen rapidly when you decrease carbohydrate intake. Fat-burning increases and sugar use drops while blood sugar drops dramatically. Just what the doctor should be ordering.

Syndrome X, also known as Metabolic Syndrome, is a constellation of symptoms indicating serious disturbances in health:

* overweight and obesity

* diabetes

* cardiovascular disease

* elevated blood pressure

It turns out that carbohydrate restriction may be the most logical approach in Metabolic Syndrome and diabetes and should be considered as the "default" dietary choice. It's likely the most effective approach in normal weight people who have Metabolic Syndrome and who do not want to follow a drug-based protocol.

Low-fat was never proven to be healthful and low-carb was shown to be a great health improver. Unfortunately, no one read this research completed during the last 50 years of the 20th century. Claims were just made about the dangers of eating diets higher in fat (although followers of the low-carb diet actually don't eat more fat).

A low-carbohydrate diet is part of our human heritage. Eating lots of carbs is a very recent change in eating habits and it was a mistake to go down this road. Let's follow a properly designed low-carb diet. Dr. Atkins's is poorly designed and most people fail in using it. The South Beach Diet isn't a low-carb diet and works poorly as well.
